Yant (n.) Alchemic Typography. Yant means speed, convenience and easy. Ancient masters wanted Dhamma verses to be memorable, portable, and practiced with ease. So these verses were abbreviated, using only the key letters of each verse, and applied to pieces of cloth or other different means of communication, while reciting and lettering the yantra incantation.
